Ans. Rashtriya Urja Jana jagriti Abhiyan is a national movement which proliferates the need for energy security and thus creating a common awareness among the public in energy conservation.
4.Why is VNIT, Nagpur chosen as the venue for this event?
Ans. Nagpur is the geometrical centre of India and before the summit there is an Urja Yatra/ Energy marathon which starts from all the four corners of India, i.e. Kanyakumari, Rajkot, Jammu and Kolkata. The Yatra will converge at Nagpur after travelling for 15 days.
5.What is the aim and objective of conducting this Yatra/marathon?
Ans. The Yatra will emphasize in creating the need for energy security and promote the use of renewable energy products among the public. The Yatra will aim schools, colleges and institutions for the propaganda of Yatra objectives. The Yatra will also give importance to the villages of our country in establishing the goal “Enlightening the villages “

Does the word marathon designates to a mass rally?
Ans. The Yatra designates a travelogue, a travelogue to ENERGY SELF RELIANT INDIA.
7.How will the Yatra / Marathon plan its goal before the final converging at Nagpur?
Ans. The Yatra will be flagged off from its respective designations on 12th January 2011. The flag offing day symbolizes the birthday of Swami Vivekananda which is celebrated as the National youth day. The Yatra, per fleet will have two large truck size vehicles which propel on biodiesel and will showcase renewable energy products and energy conservation methods on banners thus proving itself as a mobile exhibition. The fleet would also contain a Hybrid car and small vehicles which runs on solar panels. A group of empowered volunteers will travel throughout the Yatra in explaining the publics about the models and its uses in daily life.
8.Does the Yatra travel during the night hours?
Ans. The Yatra travels only during the working hours for the better convenience and effectiveness of the public. The Yatra has set a camp after every 150km after the dusk where the preparations for the next day are made.
9.How do I know whether the Yatra is passing through my city/village?
Ans. For a detailed Yatra route kindly refer the brochure insert in this website. The routes have been given in four zones i.e. North, South, East and west.
10.From the map it is noted that the Yatra does not visit some important cities in India?
Ans. It is our concern too that the Yatra will not be able to go to every corner of this nation. The selection of Yatra routes has been made in such a way that majority villages are benefited from it.
